Gordon Curtis is a visionary sculptor whose highly unique work captures the wild intelligence, beauty and ancient spirit of trees. Gordon brings a rare depth of presence to his art which he sees as representing our lives' evolutionary journey of discarding that which no longer serves us. His sculptures—born from driftwood —are revealed as much as they are shaped.

Once the heartwood emerges, Gordon sculpts according to his innate understanding of the Golden Mean, accenting each piece’s character. Gnarled grains, weather-worn edges, and natural forms become portals to something sacred and alive. Gordon’s process is one of leaving ego aside, listening and following rather than forcing, allowing the wood’s character to teach and guide him toward what wants to emerge.
