Are you your own worst enemy when it comes to investing? 

Many of the instincts which serve us well in most endeavors are counterproductive in investing.  It is very easy to be a successful long-term investor. The information you need for success is not complicated and can be learned in fifteen minutes.  An MBA course in investing will draw this out over a semester or two, but the Cliff Notes can be put on an index card.   The industry is incentivized to make investing complicated, transaction intensive or both. Once you know the basics of successful investing you are much better equipped to decide what is best for you.
